I was invited to attend the Bronx River Art Center's (BRAC) gala event for the 2009-2010 season which kicked off on Friday, July 24 and continues until Saturday, September 12. Curator Jose Ruiz will display eight exhibits with Black Gold being the first show. Black Gold features work from Abigail DeVille and Tattfoo Tan, who, are two dynamic artist from the Bronx, New York. The entire exhibit stretches from the twelve foot high ceiling to the mahogany hard wood floor. The vibrant colors and mixed media installation is clearly shown throughout the piece "What happened to a dream deferred... SUPERNOVA" pictured above. Tattfoo Tan is an environmental conscious artist and Abigail DeVille is an artist who creates gigantic mixed media art. Abigail's work has been mentioned in several publication including the New York Times, NY Magazine and Time Out New York. This show is a must see! So, stop on by and visit BRAC because this is a great way to get out, have some fun and learn about art with the entire family. For more information visit BRAC's website at www. bronxriverart.org. *The image above is shot by LaToya Ruby Frazier.
