Franklin Ave is in a frenzy over its newest eatery which is the Bella Greens Salad Bar.
As you enter this quaint space, it is cozy due to the exposed brick yet quite fancy with several chandelier fixtures. After glancing the overhead board, each patron has the option to "create his or her own salad" with a choice of baby spinach, mixed greens, spring mix or sample a speciality salad. Bella offers a large selection of toppings such as chicken, shrimp, banana peppers, crumbled blue cheese, artichoke hearts, black or green olives, and baby corn just to name a few.
Once salad size is selected, the toppings are added and delicately mixed with either olive oil, vinaigrette or a creamy (ranch or caesar) style dressing. To my surprise there are several speciality salads on the menu,so I sampled the large Genovese. This salad is stuffed with small baby spinach, large soft walnuts, black olives, goat cheese and paired with a balsamic dressing. It was filling and gave me a quick boost of energy!
So why wait to get started on a health kick? Instead slide on over to Crown Height's and visit Bella Greens Salad Bar. This spot is the only one within a one mile radius of the surrounding neighborhoods of Park Slope and Prospect Heights yet steps away from the Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Garden and Grand Army Plaza library.
Bella Greens Salad Bar is located at 717 Franklin ave, corner of Park Place, Brooklyn, NY. This week it will be open from 10am to 10pm.
